Orchestrating  with dazzling virtuosity, Percy Grainger is well known for his compositions, often investing the music of British and American folk traditions with intensely original realizations. But such originality presents unique challenges. There are few conductors performing today who are is quite so familiar with the opportunities that Grainger’s virtuosity presents in performance.

Sir Andrew Davis is currently music director and principal conductor of Lyric Opera of Chicago. He is conductor laureate of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra having been chief conductor 2013-2019.  He is also conductor laureate of both the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
